    Abstract
    During a three-week visit to the Yunnan Province, China, involving 17 Hmong villages, participants were interviewed about their traditional, spiritual, and ritual knowledge of funerals. The purpose of this study was to focus on how significant events are marked or celebrated, who participates in them, how and where.
