    Abstract
The purpose of this study was to present results that test the efficacy of a newly designed sample preparation technique for measuring rare earth elements (REE) in silicate rocks. A safer, faster, and cheaper method of sample digestion was utilized compared to conventional methods that employ hydrofluoric acid in pressurized bombs.
