    Abstract
Information was obtained through morphological and cytological studies in order to describe and classify a recently isolated Pyrenomycetous fungus. The fungus was isolated with Gliocladium roseum from soil samples of maple-elm-ash forest. Serial sections obtained from paraffin embedded materials stained with Hematoxylin Iron Alum and Lactophenol cotton blue revealed that this organism's perithecial initials arise as a single-celled archicarp, which grows out as a side branch from a vegetative hypha.
