A comparative study of static and ballistic stretching techniques for the attainment and retension of flexibility
Abstract
Sixty freshman high school boys from Medford, Wisconsin, were divided into three groups by random selection. A pre-test for trunk-hip flexibility was administered to each group. A flexibility development program of four weeks duration (four times a week) was conducted, and then six post tests were taken at one week intervals. For the flexibility development program one group performed static stretching exercises, and the control group did not participate in the flexibility development program.
