    Abstract
Our research is composed of two studies. Our naturalistic observation study examined the chewing of participants as a function of gender, age, and location. The participants showed that 2/3 of people chew with their mouth open. The general conclusion is that etiquette has declined over time. Our second study examined the impact manners have on society. Our results showed that both males and females agree that good manners make mates more desirable and attractive.
