    Abstract
Development of a model bulimia treatment program designed for implementation in a college or university counseling center was the objective of this thesis. Recognition of the increased incidence of bulimia and the demonstrated need by students for an intervention program led to this project. The statement of the problem for this study was intended to answer the question: Following extensive review of existing programs and literature, can a program for the effective treatment of bulimia be developed for implementation in a college or university setting? The completion of this project affirms the feasibility of the development of such a program. A thorough review of literature was a significant aspect of the methodology for this project as it was the basis for development of the proposed program. The literature was carefully reviewed to determine intervention techniques which had been suggested or implemented. The proposed program was a synthesis of the intervention techniques found in the Review of Selected Literature.
