One of the most challenging obstacles in education today is developing behavioral interventions that are effective and efficient. While many behavioral interventions exist to modify classroom behaviors, it appears that behavioral interventions which improve the participant’s self-efficacy, such as video self-modeling, are most effective. This research reviews the existing literature on video self-modeling interventions and the influence of self-efficacy on the effectiveness and maintenance of the intervention. Additionally, a historical framework based on Albert Bandura self-efficacy and social learning theory will be reviewed. A critical analysis of the relevant literature includes directions for future research and practice.
