    Abstract
    The purpose of this study was to research selected strategies for recruiting and retaining women in information technology (IT) professions. This study includes a comprehensive review and critical analysis of research and literature associated with the strategies in recruiting and retaining women in IT professions. A summary was presented and recommendations made to educators and employers on improved practices in the recruitment and retention of women in the IT professions. The summary portion of this study addressed the critical issue of increasing the number of qualified women prepared to meet the workforce demands and opportunities of the future. Recommendation were made to help women believe in their abilities for success by outlining individual recommendations designed to increase the awareness of women’s underrepresentation in technology and to impact the further involvement of women in the field of information technology.
