In recent years, industry has had to respond to rapid developments in new technology to survive in an increasingly competitive environment. Fast, effective adoption depends on successful strategic quality planning. While in the long-term, new technology can play an active part in the development of a continuous innovation process and in strategic decision-making. This thesis is addressed primarily to senior managers and development practitioners in industry. Finally, the thesis has been written with a student in mind. Every attempt was made to keep the exposition simple and straightforward. The thesis is based on careful study of the Juran's 'Quality Planning Road Map'. In analyzing who are the customers, determine the needs of those customers, translate those needs into our language, establish units of measure to develop a product that can respond to those needs. Attention also was made through a self-assessment tool and provided a good example of companies practicing this model.
