    Abstract
Many young singers begin their collegiate musical studies with little or no exposure to opera and scant knowledge of the skills and training required for a career in vocal performance. The goal of this project was to create and implement lesson plans for a series of six after-school workships that introduced high school student to such topics as operatic literature, stage movement, character creation, language, poetry, and auditioning skills.
