    Abstract
The authors examine the political economy of the textile and garment sectors in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal to determine the consequences of the expiration of the Multi-Fiber Agreement. The authors find that India and Pakistan are likely to benefit, while Nepal is likely to suffer. The expected effects on Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are ambiguous.
