Abstract
The most
important component of the George
W. Bush administration's management agenda was the extension of the
politicized presidency. However, the strategy of increased tighter political control of the federal
bureaucracy largely failed: it undermined the Bush administration's policy goals and restoration of the institution of the presidency.
