Comparison of Instructional Materials for Solving a Complex Task: The Rubik's Cube.

Abstract

Research participants were given two sets of written directions for solving Rubik's Cubes; one version was step-by-step and one version heuristic. The results showed that the step-by-step mehtod was more effective at explaining how to solve the Rubik's Cube.
