The purpose of this study is to provide the Student Personnel
Services graduate students, who are interning in the
Admissions Office at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse,
with an accurate historical account of the evolution of the
policies and procedures that are presently being used in the
Admissions Office. Through this historical study the interns
and other interested individuals are provided with a broader
understanding of the admissions policies and procedures.
Secondly, this historical study presents some background
for each of the administrative eras of the Admissions Office
along with some knowledge of the policy and procedure changes
that have occurred during each of the eras.
A final purpose of this study was to investigate and discuss
the contributions of student personnel workers who have
been involved in the administration of the Admissions Office.
