Mathisen, Blake
The importance of creative thinking is often stated in the field of engineering and in our courses. This makes sense as engineering often requires original solutions to unique problems. However, this relationship is rarely discussed the other way around. My goal is to explore how engineering techniques and tools can aid in the creation of art, specifically fashion. To do this, I will be working with Professor CV Peterson as my mentor to produce a collection of four pieces. While working on each piece, I will be documenting how the tools I use from both traditional sewing and engineering helped me create it. Furthermore, I will explain how each piece helped me achieve my goal.

Schultz, Adeline Mary
Wolverine and the X-Men is a cartoon that aired over the course of 2009 on the Nicktoons network...The main conflict within this show centers around the shaky relations between the mutants and the non-mutants, as well as the imminence of the war that Xavier sees in the future. This identity-based war parallels ethnic conflict in the real world. This paper will apply Wolverine and the X-Men to five common ethnic conflict frameworks (ancient hatreds, manipulative leaders, economic rivalry, spiral of insecurity, and symbolic politics) to determine which theory best explains the on-screen narrative.

<summary type="text">A Contemporary Re-evaluation of German Grand Strategy: An Analysis of the Soft-Power Strategy
Swenson, Isaac J.
First, this paper examines German societal and political attitudes in the late 19th and 20th centuries &#13;
that help explain Germany’s inclination towards the acceptance of soft power diplomacy. This historical &#13;
examination then moves into case studies detailing the recent European diplomatic crises in the two &#13;
previous decades; the case studies will follow a qualitative formulaic approach to evaluating both the &#13;
effectiveness of the soft-power playbook in traditional hard-power situations and the extent to which soft-power methods were the initially proposed solution. Finally, this paper evaluates the degree to which Germany has adhered to its soft-power principles amidst reemerging hard-power ideologies.

Roessler, McKenna
Just-in-Time Adaptive Interventions (JITAIs) are a relatively novel resource developed for behavior modification and management. Typically taking the form of mobile software or wearable devices, JITAIs have been successful in monitoring and changing maladaptive behaviors ranging from smoking (Cerrada et al., 2017) to suicide (Coppersmith et al., 2022). However, more research is needed to investigate how willing potential users are to use JITAIs. This study surveyed a sample of college students to find out how acceptable they would consider a variety of uses of JITAIs to be, as well as how likely they would be to use them themselves. Results from two repeated measures ANOVAs did not indicate a difference in acceptability or likeliness of use between the different uses of JITAIs, but both dimensions scored highly overall, indicating that college students appear open to using this technology.
